ALUO Exhibition 2017

The traditional exhibition of student works at the end of the academic year. Visit one of the largest exhibitions in Slovenia, presenting the works of more than 500 different authors engaged in the areas of fine arts, restoration and design at four venues in Ljubljana. FREE ADMISSION.

-> Design is obviously important. Namely, my mother always tells me to offer a chair to a guest. You are invited to attend an informative and refreshing social event with the students and mentors involved in Industrial Design. In addition to short presentations and answers to any questions from the audience, your hosts will – following Ettore Sottsass’ Mother’s instruction – offer you a chair.

2. THE THOUGHT AND THE HAND

-> You are invited to attend an informative social event with the students and mentors involved in Applied Arts / Glass and Ceramics, at which we will present student exhibits and the method of the research and creative work carried out on the concerned materials.

3. A WALK WITH CONSERVATORS-RESTORERS
Friday, 9 June, at 16.00
Department for Restoration, Svetčeva 1

-> Join the students from the Department for Restoration to see the first part of their exhibition at Svetčeva 1, and then walk with them to the departmental premises at Kongresni trg 12. They will show you what is hidden underneath the surfaces of works of art.

4. OPEN STUDIOS
Friday, 9 June, at 17.00
Department for Visual Communication Design, Dolenjska 83

-> Students of Photography, Graphic Design and Illustration will present their exhibits and explain how they were created.

5. A TALK WITH THE MENTORS
Friday, 9 June, at 18.00

-> You are invited to attend an informative chat with the mentors of the exhibits, lecturers and technical assistants involved in the Programmes for Photography, Graphic Design and Illustration.
+ Performance of the choir FPZ Z'borke at 18.30.

6. OPEN STUDIOS
Friday, 9 June, at 18.00
Department for Painting and Department for Sculpture, Erjavčeva 23

-> Take a peek into the studio of the students from the Department for Painting and the Department for Sculpture, and ask the students and mentors involved in the Programmes for Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, and Video and New Media about the processes with which the exhibits were created.

7. MOSAIC WORKSHOP
Saturday, 10 June, at 10.00
Department for Restoration, Kongresni trg 12

-> We are opening the door to the mosaic workshop, involving, within the project Development, Treatment and Testing of New Materials for the Construction and Conservation/Restoration of Mosaics (Acquiring Knowledge in a Creative Way), the students from the Department for Restoration. They will present their work and the materials created within the project.

8. OPEN CIRCLE
Saturday, 10 June, at 17.00
Department for Visual Communication Design, Dolenjska 83

-> Spend a Saturday afternoon with us, attending a guided tour around the exhibition of the artworks by the students of the Programmes for Photography, Graphic Design and Illustration.
