Austrian design curator and cultural producer Thomas Geisler has been appointed as the curator of the 26th Biennial of Design. The 2019 biennial will take place from 14 November to 9 February 2020. It will be hosted by the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO), and its curatorial framework will be announced early next year.

The editorial office of the Metropolis Magazine put the exhibition of BIO 25: Faraway, So Close,  curated by Angela Rui and May Vardjan, amongst one  of the 10 best architectural and design exhibitions in the world in 2017. The Bienniale  of Design (BIO) was placed alongside the exhibitions of world-renowned institutions such as Barbican Center, Chicago Architecture Biennial, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and MoMA The Museum of Modern Art.
